Well, we didn’t think we would enjoy Vegas as much as we did. We stayed in a casino hotel because it was cheap! Big room, pool with Jacuzzi, not too far from everywhere.

We started on the new strip, so many lights, crazy fountains, thousands of people on a Tuesday night, this is the city of excess. We went to the Flamingo and the Circus Circus. Both quite famous and old casinos. You can smoke inside and the sight of desperate people next to rich tourists all gambling is a weird thing to witness. The first night, we spent it at the Double Down Saloon and it was great. It’s a punk bar with quality live music, an awesome jukebox and cheap drinks! That’s all we needed.

The second night, we got some tickets to visit the Neon Museum. It’s basically a boneyard for old neon casino signs and you can walk through Vegas history. The guide was funny and had plenty of interesting facts and stories. Definitely a place to check out if in Vegas.

After that we went downtown and had some pizza and beer in Evel Pie. Also a super cool place, named after Evel Knievel. We obviously had a walk through the Fremont street experience. What the hell is this place? Pretty funny and a general good atmosphere but very, very tacky. Anyways we didn’t stay too long and finished our night at the El Cortez. Jeremy gambled $1 in an old school slot machine and got $20 out of it. That’s about as far as our gambling exploits went!

So at the end of day, we really enjoyed the spectacle of Sin City but felt like two nights were quite enough..
