Driving across Texas is not exactly a pleasant experience. It’s big (bigger than France), the roads are pretty crap and it’s fields and industries along the way. Nevertheless, we stopped in Lubbock on the first day and visited the Buddy Holy Center. Lubbock is the city where he was from, the museum wasn’t bad, even though not much to see.

After that, we drove to San Antonio where we stayed with our friend Pedro for a couple of days. San Antonio is a pretty town. The River Walk was pretty enjoyable and then we went to the Alamo, where the battle of Alamo happened and Davy Crockett died during the Texan Revolution. This is one of the events that eventually lead to Texas independence and later incorporation into the U.S. Interesting history to learn about even though it seemed a little biased at times…

On our last night, we went to a bar called the Ringer, themed after the Big Lebowski! It was nice to drink some white russians in a cool setting!
